Day Three, Lessons

Yesterday and today I was at the firehouse, so I’m unable to make progress on the updates to the workshop. Dad was in the shop yesterday working on the new lighting that we will be installing. I suspect it will make a HUGE difference on visibility. We will be increasing the number of lights in the shop overall, and switching from incandescent bulbs to florescent bulbs. Eventually I hope to switch all of the lights over to LED, for energy savings.

Building and expanding the website has turned out to be a little tougher than anticipated. Today I learned some good lessons, so I am going to call it a win. In an earlier post, I indicated that I am trying to turn multiple ideas into profitable businesses. As it turns out creating two pages, with different topics, within the same web domain can create a bit of a problem with your search engine optimization (SEO.) Taking this approach can also keep you from monetizing with the help of some advertising services. Not a huge deal, but still a stumbling block. I’ll try the free route f0r the second site, and see where that takes me.

Day Two, Take Two

The site is live and our URL,, has been redirected from our Facebook page to a WordPress created site. This is “Day Two, Take Two” since this is my second attempt at bringing Cutting Edge Carving to the world. This time should be different, as I have a different approach in mind.

Like all good things, it will take a little bit of time. No worries, I will not make you wait long.

The shop is currently undergoing some changes, but soon I will get some pictures posted. From there, I am going to reach out to some local craftsman who have expressed an interest in working together. I hope to get them into the shop so that we can work out designs together.

As you can see the website is also undergoing some changes, being that I am new to WordPress. There is a little bit of a learning curve, but I will get through it. I’ll get pictures, blog posts, and other content posted as it is created. For now feel free to take a look at our gallery on the bottom of our “About Us” page.
